Our Team

Our ‘creative collective’ production team is made up of an inclusive group of visionary creative directors, enthusiastic artists and committed film-and-video professionals who love to travel and work together. We forge lasting friendships along the way as we collaborate with a wide variety of artistic creators, excellent organizations and responsible distribution partners to create and tell their stories – and by extension, our own.

This innovative approach is embodied and championed by graffitiTV’s lead producer and creative director, Aj Thakker. Aj acts as creative director and technical producer, all while leading, coaching and mentoring graffitiTV’s growing team of creative partners. He is an award-winning multi-media and live program producer with hands-on experience with broadcast-quality video production equipment, including full HD and 4K production solutions and next-generation streaming technology.

As a nod to the leaders and Elders who taught us our crafts and a heritage to those that follow, we are committed to mentoring and supporting the next generation of Métis creators like Alexander D. Willems, an emerging filmmaker working from Treaty 6 territory. As graffitiTV’s newest creative partner, Alex is actively involved in our in-studio multicamera productions as well as expanding his own skillset working independently on a wide variety of projects. He is comfortable on either side of the lens and brings a calm energy combined with a growing arsenal of original ideas to our team.

While home in Treaty Four Territory, we can rely on recent University Regina Film Program graduate Harvey Gibson (PA/MultiCamera Line Editor), New Canadians Nivin Babu (Audio, Sfx, Gfx), Ramesh Mekkadu (Camera/Editor) and Vashish  Trivedi (Camera/Editor) or local independent consultants, Brooke Longpre (muticam PA) or Jeff Nenson (Broadcast Engineer) to support our efforts. We often collaborate with a host of  experienced professionals from across North America to round out our teams for specific projects and locations.

At graffitiTV, we offer paid mentored positions to talented emerging digital creators who wish to gain experiences and opportunities while working with a team of passionate professionals. We actively seek and welcome opportunities that introduce us to new creative partners that expand our world view and teach us different ways of knowing.
